Linlithgow Civic Trust is the Organiser of Doors Open Days in West Lothian

Doors Open Days is organised nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust

After six successful years, we hope to make 2017 even better!

Linlithgow Civic Trust has organised West Lothian’s Doors Open Days since 2011 and we look forward to doing so for a seventh time in 2017. The likely dates are 9 and 10 September 2017, to coincide (as we have always done) with Linlithgow Folk Festival. The overlap has been mutually advantageous – well exemplified on sunny afternoons when building visitors have mingled with the audience at music sessions.

A varied programme was achieved once again in 2016, with new venues added to balance deletions. A popular choice was to view work in progress at Duntarvie Castle near Winchburgh, courtesy of Geoffrey Nicholsby of kiltmaker Geoffrey (Taylor). Other venues included the Regal Community Theatre in Bathgate, Blackburn House in Blackburn, and Canal House in Linlithgow.
