Linlithgow Civic Trust and West Lothian History and Amenity Society
JOINT RESPONSE TO PLANNING CONSULTATION
Proposal: Listed building consent for the installation of rooflights,
erection of decking area for external seating and installation of new fire door
at Café Leo, 50 High Street, Linlithgow.
Planning Application Number - 0977/LBC/08 Ranald Dods
Applicant Gianni Crolla
Observations
The part of the building concerned is fairly unobtrusive and does not appear
to have any architectural value as compared to the parent listed building.
Consequently, the proposed rooflights and firedoor are unlikely to detract from
the character of the listed building. The only concern might relate to the
effects of the use of the external seating on the amenity of nearby residents -
this should be assessed as part of the determination of the application.
Conclusions
The Civic Trust and the WLHAS have no objections to this proposal,
subject to safeguarding residential amenity as appropriate.
