JOINT RESPONSE TO PLANNING CONSULTATION
Proposal: Installation of automatic public convenience at Water Yett,
Linlithgow
Planning Application Number: 1200/FUL/08 Steven McLaren
Applicant: West Lothian Council
Observations
In the past there have been concerns that an automatic public convenience
might lead to the closure of the staffed toilets in the town at Guyancourt
Vennel.
However, in view of the understanding that the facility now being proposed
will complement rather than replace the existing toilets, doubts in that regard
are to a certain extent dispelled. In addition, the toilets are fairly
well hidden away, and quite distant from any historic buildings, the setting of
which could have been compromised. In the circumstances, whereby the
amenity, character and appearance of the conservation area are not adversely
affected, the proposal is considered acceptable.
Conclusions
Linlithgow Civic Trust and WLHAS have no objections to this proposal.
